ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Cacao Ceremony: Sofia Sturla

Sofia Sturla is a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, an artist, and a yogini who believes in food as medicine, and nature as wisdom. Her work is to create a supportive space for others to gain the tools to make empowered changes towards their healing. She finds deep connection to health and community through food and nature. It is natural to her to work with plant medicinals. Her connection with cacao is through the heart, and her intention is to welcome you to enter the heart realm feeling ease and support.

Ecstatic Dance DJ: Lisa Devi

Lisa Devi is E-RYT 500 Yoga Teacher, Qigong Teacher, Sound Healer, Vocalist/Kirtan Musician, and DJ. She began her music journey when she was 7 years old, and her yoga journey when she was 10 years old. Her father encouraged the path of yoga, and has been her biggest supporter ever since. Her dharma (purpose and passion) was to expand awareness, leading beings through self-discovery on how to find the teacher from within. By facilitating this discovery, her intention is to help all cultivate this beautiful tool of awareness into their everyday life and passions, and to explore their consciousness potential for wellbeing.

Sound Journey: Lauren Vargo

Lauren Vargo is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Healer, Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Musician, and Birth Doula. She has practiced massage therapy for over 8 years, and over that time she has developed a deep, nurturing touch and healing presence that has helped many. Lauren's highest desire is to hold sacred space for beautiful beings to connect deeply with their souls and attain states of relaxation that can allow for healing. Her practice has come to offer energy work, guided meditation and breathwork, and recently has included sound healing with the crystal bowls, koshi chimes, and her sacred ethereal voice. It is her wish to offer all beings gently held space to feel cared for and protected in a beautiful loving vibration of sound.

CACAO

Cacao has been used in ancient ceremonies by South Americans (the Maya) for thousands of years. It has an active ingredient in it called theobromine—which can be translated to, “Food of the Gods.”

The word cacao actually came from the Maya word Ka’kau, and the Maya word Chokola’j—which means to drink chocolate together. The cacao plant is seen as a medicinal plant, and has been used for a number of spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes throughout history.

Cacao ceremony is rooted in helping to re-balance the energies within us through opening the heart, connecting with higher self, mental clarity, healing, joy, and restoring good health. Cacao enables us to hear our true self, work through blockages, dissolve any pent up negative energy, and help us align with who we truly are.

Please be aware that the consumption of ceremonial cacao is not recommended if you:
• Have heart problems
• Blood pressure issues
• Are on anti-depressants
• Are pregnant
